TONIGHT!

ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL ARE FLYING BY!

IT’S NOT TOO EARLY TO THINK ABOUT COLLEGE PLANNING

Lisa Fisher, author of the book Admissions by Design, is a multi-award winning educator, former international teacher, college counselor, and educational consultant. We have a great opportunity to have her speak about her practical guide to college admissions tonight, November 9th, 2022, at 6:00 pm in our gym. Parents are invited to attend this free event, which we are opening to the public. Middle school students are welcome to attend with their parents.

We could use a parent volunteer to help set up chairs and refreshments from 5-6 pm. To offer a hand or for questions, please contact Dayna Dennis: ddennis@assumption.school. Thank you!

Fall Open House

On Sunday, November 20th, from 11:30 to 1:30pm, we will host an Open House with an emphasis on our preschool and kindergarten programs. This one is much more low-key than our Spring event, but current Assumption families are welcome, and we encourage you to share the information with your friends and family who may be interested. (Please disregard the 11:00 am start time on the calendar- thank you!)

Christmas Card Art Contest For the School

Attention Artists!  Every year our school sends out Christmas Cards to our families and donors that support our school in so many ways.  Please see the entry form in today’s Wednesday envelope for more details.

All entries are due November 22, 2022!  No late entries will be accepted.  Thank you and good luck

Assumption Parent Satisfaction Surveys 2022

Each year, we ask Assumption School families to fill out a parent satisfaction survey so that we can solicit valuable feedback and improve our programs and systems. This year we have switched platforms from Survey Monkey to Microsoft Forms so the formatting may be a little different than previous years. If you are doing this on your phone, please note that for each academic subject rating you’ll need to use the drop-down arrow to expand each subject after the first one (math).

It should take no more than ten minutes to complete, and we ask that you have this done no later than Friday, November 25th. If you have children in the preschool AND K-8 programs, you only need to fill out the K-8 survey. If you only have a preschool/pre-K student, please fill out the preschool survey. Thank you!

Halloween Candy Donations

Do your children have a surplus of Halloween Candy this year?  Well, third grade would love to collect any portion of that for their service project (care packages for service men/women).  All donations can be brought to the front lobby where there will be a collection basket.  Thank you!

Tuition Assistance Applications

Applications for the 2023-2024 school year are now open with the Fulcrum Foundation. They must be submitted by January 6, 2023.

Families can apply here: https://online.factsmgt.com/aid

Walking in Holiness with the Saints

We hope that you will enjoy learning about how saints are a great example of holiness, strength, and courage one day at a time. Below is a description of a saint but their name is withheld. See if you can guess who the saint is and get your name put in for a prize drawing.  See Mrs. King in the office if you have a guess.

Last week: St. Margaret of Scotland

The winner is Hy Nguyen… Congratulations!

New Saint:  When this saint grew up, she was a very active Catholic. She was generous with her time and her money. She realized that the Church had many needs. So she turned her energies and her fortune to the poor and the forgotten. Her work for Jesus would be among the African American and Native American people. In 1891, she began a new religious community of missionaries. They were called the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. The Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament had grown to some 500 members in 51 convents, and they had established 49 elementary schools, 12 high schools, and Xavier University. She died in 1955 at the age of ninety-seven. At the time of her death, she had used more than $12 million of her inheritance for her charitable and apostolic missions.

 Who is this saint?  ________________
