Holy Hoops Coming in October!
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 15th – October 18th!
Holy Hoops is a highly anticipated fall tradition at Assumption. This FREE four day, 4-on-4 basketball tournament is open to ALL Assumption 5th-8th graders. There are separate leagues for boys and girls and each team includes at least one 5th grader, 6th grader, 7th grader and 8th grader, plus one or two alumni coaches. All participants receive a T-shirt, a pizza/lunch party, pizza party at the end of the event, and build lifelong memories with friends and alumni.
Note for 5th-8th students: Sometimes, students are hesitant to sign up because they are new to basketball. That’s OK! This tournament includes participants of ALL skill levels and that just adds to the fun. Encourage your friends and classmates to participate! Whether basketball is your favorite sport, or you’ve never shot a basketball- sign up to have fun with your friends after school and learn something new. We always have a great time (plus, you get a pizza party at the end)! Registration Deadline September 27th.
Note for parents: This tournament is free, and the kids have a blast. We understand there are other after-school commitments, and the coaches will always work around them (all teams will have subs so it’s not critical for each player to be at every single game. Just let your coach know!) We also encourage you (parents) to come to the gym after school whenever you can to cheer on your favorite teams. If you have an ACS alumnus at home who is interested in being one of our awesome coaches, please encourage them to sign up.
A note to the ACS community: To keep this tournament free for all participants, we rely solely on event sponsorships from our generous community. There are levels to fit any budget and all proceeds go toward putting on a great tournament for the students. Additional funds this year will help pay for new uniforms for our basketball teams – we are in dire need! Registration Deadline October 4th.
Please see the sponsorship link below and consider making a donation to Holy Hoops.

Individual School Pictures Coming
Donette Studios is providing the photography again this year for our Individual School Pictures on September 24th and 25th. Several things to keep in mind…
- Donette uses online ordering, and they will send each family a link by email to look at and make purchases at that time.
- All students may wear free dress for this picture. Please follow the guidelines for free dress or your child may be asked to call home for a change of clothes.
- September 25th is a day for PreK students and any makeups from Tuesday. The time for this is short and only from 11:30pm to 12:30pm.
- Students that miss both days will have a chance for retakes sometime in October.

Scrip Fundraising
The Scrip program is a way to earn money for the school by purchasing gift cards to grocery stores, restaurants, and other places that we shop at. Please look for a form in your Wednesday envelope once a month or you may also stop by the office or days that our parents sell scrip outside.
SCRIP sales are a great way to earn fundraising hours. We are looking for people for specific shifts to sell SCRIP to families before and after school. Email Tam Bratt at sparklingstar81@hotmail.com with any questions!
