TONIGHT! STARTING IN THE GYM at 6:30 pm
- At least one parent is required to attend this evening that is just for parents. Our on site childcare is now FULL.
- Maps of the classrooms and a paper schedule of the evening will be provided in the gym when you arrive. Student Ambassadors will also be available to direct families to the classrooms.
- Remember that preschool and kindergarten classrooms will not be open this evening since their orientation took place on August 24.

Calling Playground Angels!
Throughout the year, we have an ongoing need to keep these safety positions filled. You get to earn volunteer hours and it’s a great way to see your child during the day while getting to know their friends. Thank you for your help in keeping recess fun and safe!

FACTS Access for Middle School Families
All Sixth Graders and new seventh grade students now have access to our FACTS portal, a window into our Student Information System. Through the portal, you and your child can access their assignments and grades. This valuable tool helps support your child’s academic success by keeping you informed about classroom activities, assignments, and grades, while encouraging students to take responsibility for their learning and academic performance.
Login instructions were emailed to affected families on Tuesday, Sept. 1. All other middle school students should use the same login information they used last year. This access only applies to middle school.

Assumption Catholic School Gym
Four Days of Fun, Competition, and School Spirit
Get ready for the 11th year of Holy Hoops! This exciting ACS tradition brings students, families, alumni, and friends together for basketball, teamwork, sportsmanship, and plenty of school spirit.
Holy Hoops is FREE and open to all Assumption Catholic School students in grades 5–8! Whether you are an experienced player, a beginner, or excited to try something new, there is a place for you on a team.
The tournament will feature a boy’s and girl’s league with mixed-grade teams coached by ACS alumni. Come play, cheer, and be part of the action!
Sign up by September 25
Sign-up forms will be sent home in your Wednesday envelope. Students may register online or complete and return the paper form in yesterday’s envelope.
Please submit all participant forms by September 25 to reserve your spot. Don’t miss this opportunity to join a team, make memories, and show your ACS spirit!

Eagle XC
Our boys’ and girls’ cross country teams represented Assumption beautifully at our first meet of the season at Bellewood Farms on Wednesday!
The boys’ team captured first place, with four Eagle runners finishing in the top ten! Our girls claimed the top three individual spots and earned a second-place team finish. We are especially excited to have eight girls on the team this year! Since five runners are required to score as a team, this marks the first time in three seasons that we have had enough girls to compete as a scoring team. What an exciting milestone!
While we’re proud of their strong finishes, we’re even more proud of the way these student-athletes supported one another. As wonderful Coach Stephanie Wolf shared, “Not only did they race well, but they were excellent teammates. I witnessed so much encouragement, cheering, and congratulating one another.”
Their sportsmanship, positivity, and grit made this accomplishment even more meaningful. We could not be more proud of our Eagles!

Caught Being Kind!
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32.
To go with this year’s Bible verse, we are implementing a school wide, “Caught Being Kind” challenge. Kindness is worth celebrating, and we’d love for you to help us recognize those students who are showing kindness, compassion, generosity, or going the extra mile for someone else. Please find the forms in your Wednesday Envelopes and return them to the school office throughout the year or simply email socialmedia@assumption.school. Students, teachers, staff, and parents are all invited to participate!
Parent-Student Handbook for 2026-2027
The updated Parent/Student Handbook will be made available next week, September 16. Then the signature page will be due September 24. Thank you for your patience while we update all forms from the office.
Drop-off/pick-up procedures- IMPORTANT!
- For the safety of the children, please do not use a cell phone while driving through the traffic loop. We need parents to be extra diligent and drive slowly in the traffic loop since there are so many students and significant traffic.
- Remember that traffic is always one way in the morning and the afternoon. Enter by the Virginia St. North side and exit on the Kentucky St. South side (by Bellingham High School).
- Do not leave the parking lot on the north side: always exit south towards Bellingham High School.
- Students in grades four and above can have permission to walk or bike home. Children in grades three and below must walk with a parent or older sibling. Students who are biking or walking should exit through the Cornwall gate only.
- We need consent on this form (link to PDF) if you give your child permission to walk or bike home.
NEW! ACS Spirit Team!
We’re excited to introduce the ACS Spirit Team, a new middle school leadership team created in partnership with the ACS Ambassadors, Mr. Ramos, and Mrs. White!
While Ambassadors serve as formal representatives of the school through leading assemblies, orientations, open houses, and other events, the Spirit Group would focus on energy, enthusiasm, hospitality, belonging, evangelization, and community engagement.
Role of the Spirit Group
Spirit Group members may assist with:
- Increased energy and pep at community events
- Engaging students during assemblies
- Welcoming students and families at school events
- SEL and character-building skits at community meetings
- Supporting Ambassadors during large events
- Encouraging positive school culture and student participation
Members would be selected based on qualities such as:
- Charisma and enthusiasm
- Positive peer influence, can connect with a wide variety of students
- Hospitality and friendliness
- Responsibility and reliability
- Servant leadership qualities
- School pride
- Ability to accept direction and feedback
- Reverence and faithfulness
This new team provides another way for students to lead, serve, and make a positive impact on campus. If you know someone who would make a great Spirit Team member, please fill out nomination forms found in the Wednesday envelope next week, or send your idea to Mrs. White via email kwhite@assumption.school.

Rosary Group Starting Tuesdays
All are invited to the 8:15 am parent/grandparent rosary group in the Stafford Room which is on the corner of the gym next to the church. Little ones are welcome and we start after drop off each Tuesday. For questions or more information: contact Erica Van Mieghem at ericavanmieghem@gmail.com
School Masses
This Friday, September 11th, Mrs. Blas’s eighth grade class will be leading Mass. All K-8 students should wear dress uniforms and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend each Mass or prayer service!
Since there is no school next Friday and construction is happening in the church, next week’s school Mass will be held in the gym on Thursday, September 17. Parents are still welcome to attend Mass, and chairs will be available for parishioners. Thank you!

Peacemaker Virtue for September- Charity
ACS is now using a new program called “Virtues in Practice” to help us live into our peacemaker virtues each month. This year will be a year of charity; this theme will help us to strengthen our ACS community. Every month will be a new virtue that points to the theme. This month we begin by talking about charity itself and how to live out charity every day.
Charity means loving God with all your heart, mind, and strength and loving your neighbor as yourself. In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus gives us The Great Commandment:
“You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Loving God first and loving each other is the way Jesus guides us to live as Christians. This is what it means to live the virtue of Charity.
A test for examining how we are living out charity is to look at how we treat each other. Not just looking at how we treat our friends, but also those we disagree with or who can’t give us anything in return. If our hearts are truly open to God, they will be open to everyone.
