Dear Assumption Catholic School Parents and Prospective Parents,
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to re-introduce myself to the Assumption community. These past few weeks have been nothing short of a blessing to me as your new school principal. I am enjoying meeting you as well as your children. I’ve also enjoyed working with the school commission, the PTC and many of our families in this short time. I love working and learning from a great staff and collaborating with Father Moore for the benefit all our students. We are all committed to providing our students with a quality education strongly rooted in the catholic faith.
To prospective parents, I personally invite you to come over and meet us, tour the school and to experience for yourselves the “community” we have built here at Assumption Catholic. We have many “legacy” families who are part of our school. These are families who have been a part of Assumption Catholic for decades, meaning that grandparents, parents and now their children are attending ACS. I value these families for their commitment to the school and to assisting us with continuing this legacy for years to come.
My family and I feel blessed to live in Bellingham and are enjoying getting to know the area all around Whatcom County. We are thankful to the community for taking us in and making us feel comfortable and a part of it so soon.
I urge all my parents to come and participate in our family activities, to volunteer and to assist us daily. I am going to change the following phrase and say that it truly takes a “community” to raise a child, and we can all do something special everyday to help us make Assumption Catholic a great place to be.
I sign off with our scripture theme for this school year, ” Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16
Come and let your light shine here with us.
E. Omar Ramos, Prinicpal
