🌟 Student Spotlight 🌟
Do you know a student who shines? Help us share the exciting things our Assumption Students are doing in and out of the classrooms. You can submit your own child, a friend, or simply a student at the school you have noticing going above and beyond. This can be something on the playground, on the sports field, with their siblings, or celebrating an accomplishment at school. We want to hear it!
Paper forms can be returned to the office or send an email to socialmedia@assumption.school.
Calling Playground Angels!
We continually need helpers on the playground. Please think about taking a recess or two for the students to be supervised the best at all times.
Thank you for your help in keeping recess fun and safe!
Middle School Academic Support
Is your middle school student struggling with a specific concept and could use extra support? Starting this Tuesday, September 30th, Ms. Zech will be offering extra small group support, across different subjects, to students. To allow for more focused support, student count is limited to 10 students and parents are asked to leave room for others to sign up in subsequent weeks, unless there are last-minute openings. This small group support does not replace individual tutoring need or homework completion time. Signed up students can head up to Ms. Zech’s class at 3:20pm and parents can pick up their child from the office at 4:00pm. To keep parents properly notified and provide transparency as to location of students, parents, not students, are asked to use the signup link below.

Tardy Unexcused Notifications
As the school year has progressed and we are all getting our routines down, the attendance office and teachers have given warnings to those students that have arrived late without notice to the office.
Starting this week, the “unexcused tardy” notifications have been turned on in our FACTS system. If your child is 5-8th grade, on the third unexcused tardy they will receive a lunch detention. On the sixth unexcused tardy, the student will receive an after school detention. This will be to help all students and parents be aware of how important it is to be on time for class, especially in middle school. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact the office and/or speak to the principal.
SCRIP PROCEDURES: BEST TIME TO PURCHASE IS ON FRIDAY MORNINGS BEFORE MASS AT 7:45 TO 8:15AM OR THROUGH THE WEDNESDAY ENVELOPES. IF ORDERS ARE NOT CALLED IN OR EMAILED WITH 24 HOUR NOTICE WE WILL NOT HAVE THEM READY. NEXT WEEK A NEW FORM WILL BE SENT HOME IN YOUR WEDNESDAY ENVELOPES. Volunteer Opportunity — On Your Schedule!
- Do you have a knack for connecting with people? Looking to earn fundraising volunteer hours from the comfort of your home? Join our Growing Great Kids Auction Sponsorship Team and help make this year’s event a great success!
We’re looking for 2–3 enthusiastic volunteers to help us reach out to potential sponsors. Sponsorships help cover event costs and bring in exciting auction items, making the night more successful and memorable.
What You’ll Do:
- Meet once or twice (starting in November) to identify and assign sponsor outreach
- Contact local businesses and invite them to support the auction
- Collect sponsor details to help our event chairs
- Bonus if you know businesses that might want to support our school!
This is a flexible and impactful role, and we’d love to have you on the team. If interested, please contact Dayna Dennis at ddennis@assumption.school
Thank you for helping us GROW GREAT KIDS!
...OR, Join the Procurement Team!

This work also qualifies as fundraising volunteer hours and can be done on your own schedule. If this sounds like your jam, please email growinggreatkidsauction@assumption.school. Thank you!
3. Christmas Bazaar Help Needed!

Holy Hoops: The Tradition Continues!!!! (SIGNUPS DUE FRIDAY)

Holy Hoops is just a few weeks away, and excitement is building for this beloved school tradition that brings together competition, community, and sportsmanship. Students are encouraged to sign up now— registration forms are DUE this Friday, September 26.
This year’s tournament will run from October 14 through October 17, with games scheduled between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday. Students are only required to attend during their scheduled game times. To support student participation, Mr. Ramos has approved reduced homework for all Holy Hoops players during the week of the tournament.
Kickoff Meeting and Team Assignments: September 30
All registered students will meet in the gym on Tuesday, September 30 at 11:30 AM, during lunch for a particpant meeting and a ice cream treat! At this meeting, teams will be assigned, team colors selected, and team Saint names discussed. Students are encouraged to come prepared with ideas for saints they’d like their teams to represent. Students will also use this time to create a poster to walk in with at the Assembly and post on the walk during Holy Hoops.
The Holy Hoops Committee will be on hand to help answer questions, and ice cream will be provided to all participants.
Alumni Coaches Needed
Holy Hoops is also an opportunity for ACS alumni to give back to their school community. Alumni interested in coaching are invited to complete a coach’s form by October 9. This is a fun way to reconnect with old classmates over a sport we all love — and it also looks great as volunteer hours on your resume or college application.
Parent Volunteers
In early October, a Sign-Up Genius will be shared for parent volunteers. Help is needed with various tasks including:
- Score clock operation
- Scorekeeping
- Refereeing
- Coach meal coordination
Volunteers play a critical role in the success of this event, and we greatly appreciate your support.
Sponsorship Opportunities
To continue offering Holy Hoops as a free tournament for all students, we are seeking sponsorships to help cover the cost of:
- T-shirts
- Food
- Prizes for team champions and individual skill events
- Coach support
A sponsorship flyer has been sent home in your Wednesday envelope. Families are encouraged to share it with employers, friends, and extended family — or consider sponsoring as a family.
8th Grade Concession Stand
The 8th Grade Class will be running the concession stand during Holy Hoops this year as a fundraiser for their Washington, D.C. trip. They’re planning a great menu, and more information will be shared soon.
Office communication
As you know, the office staff is made up of two Mrs. Kings to meet your needs in the office! To best serve our school families and ensure no communication slips through the cracks, please use the following guide for emailing:
- Attendance, including absences, tardies, and planned appointments: please email attendance@assumption.school. This ensures all office staff get your message regardless of scheduling. Mrs. Michele King is the attendance personnel.
- Tuition and school account issues and records: Mrs. Angie King, aking@assumption.school
- Admissions, Annual Fund, Tours, Marketing: Please email Mrs. Dayna Dennis at ddennis@assumption.school.
- All other communication (questions, concerns, messages to children or teachers)- please do your best to email us according to our areas of responsibility.
- Wednesday Envelopes: Another form of communication between the office, teachers and parents. Please return envelopes to the office by Thursday each week.
- Everything else: Mrs. Michele King, mking@assumption.school
Alternatively, you could always call the school and anyone in the office will be happy to help you. Emailing the office at theoffice@assumption.school is also a way to communicate with all three people in the office (including Mr. Ramos). Thank you for helping us best serve you!

New Saint Question of the Week!
This Saint was one of the women that traveled with Jesus and his disciples across the many different cities and places to help preach the gospel. She then ran to tell Peter and John, who went to investigate and found the tomb empty, just as she had said. Peter and John left, but Mary sat by the tomb crying. Two angels appeared in the tomb and conversed with her. She then turned around and saw someone whom she mistook for the gardener and asked if he had taken Jesus’ body, but it was Jesus Himself. When Jesus said her name, “Mary!”, she recognized Him. Jesus told her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God’” (John 20:17). Mary quickly went and informed the disciples that she had seen the Lord. She, who was first sent to announce the Resurrection of Christ to the other disciples, Saint Thomas Aquinas referred to her as the “Apostle to the Apostles.”. Patron Saint of pharmacists, contemplatives, converts, glovemakers, hairdressers, penitent sinners, people ridiculed for their piety
