Principal of the Day! Miss Evelyn White!
Principal Evelyn White was busy at Assumption today. She taught math class with Mrs. Evans, settled some discipline issues, served up some delicious rootbeer floats, supervised recess, did a photo shoot in the classrooms to let families know what is going on with the students and their studies and granted an extra recess to the 6Z class. Here are some of her favorite things:

Fav book: adventure fantasy
Fav movie: Hunger Games – but the book is better!
Favorite thing about ACS: There are a lot of things I like about Assumption, but the main thing is that it offers choir. Science is my favorite class. I really like end of the year best. My favorite thing to do at school is the school dances because it is just fun and no pressure. My favorite sport is soccer but my favorite sport at ACS is basketball.
I think the girls at ACS really want the girls bathroom to be remodeled. Middle schoolers often get exhausted going up and down stairs and wish they had an elevator.

We’re thrilled to announce that it is almost time for the 41st Annual Ellen Anderson Fun Run!
The theme this year is: Let’s Glow! Neon Fun Run
This yearly event is an exciting way for the students to participate in fundraising for the school while having fun! We ask for parent cooperation by purchasing a T-Shirt asking family, friends, and neighbors for pledges per lap, or a flat pledge amount to help us reach our fundraising goal.
PLEASE RETURN THOSE ENVELOPES TO THE OFFICE WITH MONEY PLEDGED AND START EARNING RAFFLE TICKETS. THE OFFICE WILL RETURN YOUR ENVELOPE EACH WEEK AFTER WE COUNT THE MONEY AND WATCH HOW MUCH EACH CLASS BRINGS IN ON THE MAIN FLOOR BULLETIN BOARD.
The class with the most money raised will get an ice cream party!

- Donations for tshirts to help other students are also being accepted: please note this on the tshirt order form

Divine Mercy Booklet
A parent of Assumption School and parishioner has been inspired by the Holy Spirit to create this wonderful booklet about the Divine Mercy Devotion.
It is primarily based on Jesus’ command to St. Faustina Kowalska to prepare the world for His return. Jesus appeared to her many times and in obedience to her spiritual director, she recorded the revelations in her diary.
At Assumption Parish each First Friday of the month, unless otherwise noted due to scheduling, parishioners pray and sing the Divine Mercy at 5:30pm. And if you would like to read more about St. Faustina and her diary, you can read The Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul available online at many bookstores.
Shred it and Forget it!
- “Shred It & Forget It” – Assumption’s Shred Event. Got stacks of old papers, top-secret documents, or that pile of junk mail you swore you’d deal with last year? Well, now’s your chance!
Assumption is hosting a Shred Event – where you can safely and securely dispose of your documents while supporting our school. For just $5 per banker box, you can watch your paperwork get professionally shredded right before your eyes. (It’s surprisingly satisfying!). $5 minimum and you can bring as many boxes as you like. This is a fundraiser that is open to the community so tell your friends!

AUCTION UPDATE: CO-CHAIR NEEDED
Seeking Auction Co-Chair Position: Do you enjoy planning large events and possess excellent communication skills? We are currently looking for a co-chair for the Growing Great Kids Auction and Gala on March 7th, 2026. This two-year commitment involves first learning the auction planning process and assisting in duties this coming school year, and then you will take the lead while coaching a new co-chair the following year. Duties include recruiting and managing several volunteer teams, giving reports at PTC meetings, overseeing the creation of marketing and communication materials, coordinating with internal school staff and external vendors, updating and managing an auction website, and managing financial details and budget for this important school fundraiser. RCOB- Meal Packing Service Project 2025

Class Pictures in April and Dress Policy
Yes, it is that time of year when we take a snapshot of each class! April 15th, Tuesday is for all classes K-8 and preschool. On April 16th- Wednesday pictures will be for PreK students. Each student should wear dress uniforms except for the 8th graders. The 8th grade students may choose to wear free dress following the guidelines in the parent/student handbook. If you have questions, please contact the office.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas Education Contest
Each year there is a new scriptural theme for the students and adults to focus on while participating in art, photography, poetry or essay.
The theme this year is “He who forgives an offense seeks love.” Proverbs 17:9 or How do I feel when I forgive?

Archdiocese of Seattle’s 175th Anniversary Celebration
The Archdiocese of Seattle is celebrating its 175th anniversary! We are all invited to join Catholics across Western Washington to serve others together as the loving Body of Christ through the Season of Service, which runs from March to May of 2025.
You can participate by serving and logging in your hours. Together we are trying to log in 175,000 hours! You can join service opportunities at your parish, school or ministry. Youth Group News
Dear Middle School Families,
I need to make a change for this Friday’s (04/04/25) Bible study. Instead of meeting at Sacred Heart at 5:00 PM, we will be meeting at Assumption in the Stafford Room at 5:00 PM. The Bible study will run from 5:00 to 5:45 PM as usual.
Afterward, we will head over to the Stations of the Cross at Assumption, which will be presented by the Ferndale youth group using shadow stations. If that sounds interesting to you, feel free to come and see how they do it!
Following the shadow stations, there will be a soup supper in the gym.
Next Friday, April 11th, we will also be meeting at Assumption since Sacred Heart Hall will be in use for a conference.
As always, I will have the students from 5:00 to 5:45 PM. At 6:00 PM, when we move to the church, they will meet up with their families for Stations of the Cross and can join them for dinner afterward.

Women’s Connect Each Thursday
This week in the school library, Women’s Connect is having guest speaker,
Danila vanVeen, come to give her testimony about her faith and coming back to the church. She will also talk about her hope for all of Whatcom County to do this 33-day Consecration to Mary.
If you are interested and would like to learn more, come to the meeting on Thursday at 7pm in the school library.
Saint of the Week Question:
Answer to last week: Who is the patron saint of France? St. Joan of Arc and St. Therese of Lisieux(the little flower). But you could have also answered The Blessed Virgin Mary because at one point, the French consecrated their country to her.
