Catholic Schools Week 2025

Please refer to the calendar for all our upcoming events during this busy and exciting week! Thursday is lunch with your child in the classroom.

Report Cards

Teachers and staff are finishing up all grades and you can expect to have report cards sent home next week in the Wednesday envelopes. The office needs to have the envelopes of each report card signed and returned to use again at the end of the school year.

Also, family FACTS has been turned off for now while teachers are finishing grades. It will be turned back on next Monday.  Thank you.

New Principal Search Committee Update

“The search committee has been reviewing applications and plans to schedule interviews in the next couple of weeks with a couple of qualified candidates. We are excited to move to this next phase in the search process and are optimistic about the candidates who have applied for the position. Even so, we will continue to accept applications while moving into the interview stage, so we encourage you to continue spreading the word. Please feel free to reach out to Basi Rodriguez Grueso (casaventuraimp@gmail.com) if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions”

REMINDER: On Sunday, February 2, from 11:30 to 1:30pm, Assumption will be hosting a schoolwide open house. We’ll be offering a fun game, and current families are encouraged to attend with a new friend.
Those who bring an interested family will receive a FREE DRESS ticket for their child(ren)!

Please note that we anticipate extra space available in kindergarten and first grade, so please help us spread the word!

DID YOU KNOW that if you refer a new family who remains enrolled through December 2025, your family receives one registration FREE the following school year? We hope you will share your love and the gift of Assumption with others!

Faith Community Scholarships now open!

These applications are now available in this week’s Wednesday Envelope (Spanish and English versions). If you are a registered member of a Whatcom Catholic parish, please read Fr. Moore’s letter to school families about the process for Faith Community Scholarships. The Spanish form will be made available by next week.

These applications are due by March 1, 2025. Extra paper forms will be in the office.

Many of you may be waiting to see what tuition assistance you are receiving from the school and/or from the Fulcrum Foundation before you can specify your need from the parishes. Since you will be receiving all of this information in the same letter in April, please estimate these amounts based on what your family received in the 2024-2025 school year. (Note: If you are new to the school this year and have applied to the Fulcrum Foundation for the first time, contact the office and we can provide you with the Fulcrum amounts directly as soon as we have that information.)

Enrollment Deadlines for 2025-2026

  • January 29th– Faith Community Scholarship applications sent home in the Wednesday envelope.
  • February 5– State of the School at 6:30 pm in the gym. Hear from Mrs. Evans about the school’s financial status and learn about projections for 2025-2026 expenses.
  • February 6th– Re-enrollment begins for current families and applications for new students can now be accepted.
  • February 21st– Re-enrollment deadline for current families. Non-refundable registration fees are due. This is a hard deadline so we can open spaces for new students.
  • March 1– Faith Community Scholarships are due to parishes.
  • April 2– Families receive a tuition assistance letter from the school with awards for 2024-2025. This includes Fulcrum Foundation, tuition assistance from school, and Faith Community Scholarships.

Save the Date! Science Fair is Thursday, March 20th

BOY SCOUTS BREAKFAST

Assumption’s Troop 4016 is having a pancake breakfast in honor of Scout Sunday this weekend on Sunday, February 2nd.  They will be serving pancakes, sausage, biscuits & gravy, and eggs after the 8:00 and 10:00 Masses at Assumption.  No charge, but donations are gladly accepted.  Thanks for coming out and supporting Assumption’s Scout Troop.
