Calling Playground Angels!

Please remember that during “rainy day recess” we still could use help in the gym or classrooms.  But we try to go outside as often as possible during the fall and winter.

Thank you for your help in keeping recess fun and safe!

K-5 Homework Support

Kindergarten-5th grade parents: If you believe your child needs additional support to complete their homework that goes beyond what you can provide, we’d like to hear from you. If there is a need, we would like to explore how we might offer some support after school. Please email Dayna Dennis (ddennis@assumption.school) to express your interest. Thank you!

We will host a school Open House on Sunday, November 3, from 11:30 to 1:30pm, with an emphasis on our preschool program. Current Assumption families are welcome, and we encourage you to share the information with your friends and family who may be interested. Student ambassadors will be on hand to provide tours and answer questions.

In today’s physical envelope, you’ll find a letter and detachable envelope to support our newly named Bright Futures Annual Fund. This is a school initiative that raises funds to cover the difference between the actual cost to educate a student at Assumption and the tuition charged to our school families – a difference of almost $3,000 per student for the 2024-25 academic year.

Unlike tuition payments, gifts to the Bright Futures Annual Fund are tax deductible.

As a current ACS family, you are benefiting from the Annual Fund right now! Every contribution toward our $140,000 goal goes into our operating budget, which helps keep tuition lower.

Please consider paying forward the life-changing gift of an Assumption education and creating more BRIGHT FUTURES!

WE STILL NEED TRUNKS and CANDY!

Assumption needs YOU on Saturday, October 26th (event begins at about 6:15; after the 5 pm Mass)!  Our parish and school are filled with children ready for Halloween fun and some well-deserved treats!

We are still looking for a few more folks willing to open their trunks and pass out candy (decorated tables are also an option)! This is a SUPER fun event! Please sign up if you’re able: Assumption’s Trunk or Treat

If you can’t provide a trunk but would like to donate treats, please drop candy off at the school office any weekday. Thank you in advance for helping us provide this great event for the children of Assumption!

FACTS Fulcrum & Assumption Tuition Assistance Applications

Tuition Assistance applications are now open for the 2025-2026 school year!

The website to complete the application is https://online.factsmgt.com/SignIn.aspx

The window to complete the application is from October 2, 2024, through December 31, 2024. This application is for both the Fulcrum Foundation Tuition Assistance Program and the Assumption Catholic School Tuition Assistance Program.

As a reminder, submitting the application online is just the first step. All applicants must also provide supporting documentation, including your 2023 1040 tax returns and W-2’s. Applications can only be verified and processed once all necessary documentation is submitted. It takes FACTS about 14 business days to process applications once paperwork is received, so the sooner it’s submitted, the better.

The deadline for applications to be submitted and documents to be uploaded into FACTS is December 31, 2024.

If you need help uploading your documents, please contact Angie King at 733-6133 ext. 4313 or email at aking@assumption.school.

And a final shout-out to our incredible sponsors, whose generosity makes Holy Hoops possible year after year!

As we wrap up another successful year, we look forward to what Holy Hoops 2025 will bring. Until then, let’s continue to carry the spirit of community, faith, and good sportsmanship into all we do. Don’t forget to come cheer on our girls’ and boys’ basketball team this season.

Saint of the Week Question:

Answer to last week: Blessed Carlo Acutis, he is considered the first millennial saint and set to become a saint later this year in Rome.  He set up a website that lists all the Eucharistic miracles.

Emery Shoff is the winner this week and can come to spin the wheel for a prize!

New Question: She is called from the beginning “the little flower” and inspired many Catholics and theologians in her short life.  Born in France and the youngest of five siblings, she became a Carmelite yet died at the young age of 24.

There is a special novena prayer, and she may bless you by sending flowers to you at the end of nine days.

**Please submit your answer by the office near the Disciple bulletin board.
