Growing Great Kids Auction – Last Week for Tickets!
It’s your final week to purchase Auction & Gala tickets! Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you at the Bellwether to celebrate and support our wonderful school. This year, our “Fund The Need” ask will be for…Walls, Floors and Furniture! Fourteen classrooms need to earn a passing grade with new paint, flooring, and desks, tables, and chairs. Last year, thanks to our generous community, we raised almost $62,000 towards the cost of 83 new windows. With the help of a grant from the Fulcrum Foundation to cover the remaining $200k, we were able to fully complete the job. How many classrooms can we upgrade this year?
Come celebrate our community together and secure your spot on the auction website:

Auction Volunteers Needed!
There are just a few spots left for volunteers at the auction – sign up now to join the celebration and help us put on this exciting event. All your help counts towards fundraising hours and there is no ticket purchase necessary to volunteer. We could still use some Dessert Runners, Bid Spotters, Raffle Ticket seller, Bid Sheet Recorders, Bid Sheet Runners and a “Night Of” Coordinator to help direct volunteers. We will train you!

Middle School Eligibility for Sports
As a reminder, middle school students (grades 6th-8th) need to maintain above a 73% in all of their core subjects to be eligible for sports and after-school activities. Parents of any student with lower than a 73% will be receiving an email from Mr. Anderson on Friday afternoon. The student will then have that weekend and until Monday at noon to make up any missing assignments and bring those subject grades above 73% to be eligible to participate. If the grade is not brought up, the student may not be able to participate for that full week (games and practices) or until the grade(s) is/are brought up to 73% or better.
Tardies and Absences
The school’s policy in the handbook states that more than three tardies in a semester may result in a lunch detention. More than six tardies may result in an after-school detention. An automated email will come from the school as soon as one of these limits is reached, with the lunch detention required on the upcoming Tuesday. If you have questions about this email or find the tally in error, please email theoffice@assumption.school.
Penny War Winner!
Congratulations to the third grade for scoring the most points in this year’s Penny Wars! The total raised from dollars and pennies was $829.74, and the money from silver coins totaled $332.50. Therefore, will be donating a total of $1,162 to Catholic Relief Services in addition to whatever is donated during the Rice Bowl campaign that raises money during Lent for CRS. The third grade has won a pizza party with a date to be determined. Thank you to everyone for their contributions.
Toys and Pokemon
Please remind your children that toys and trading cards should remain at home. We have had challenges in the past with hurt feelings and “deals” being made that don’t end well for students. Toys can be lost, or cards can be damaged, so we’ve decided as a staff to limit these altogether. If students have toys or trading cards out at recess, these items may be confiscated for the day and returned to students at the end of the school day. Thank you for your help with managing this from home.
Assumption School “Brand”
We consistently look at our branding and work to update the style guide so that it is current and reflects the culture of our school community. Based on feedback we received and suggestions from students, parents, and staff, we made the decision to update the school’s mascot. This logo will be on all future sports apparel and the middle school hoodies going into the 2024-2025 school year.
Go Eagles!
Semester One Report Card Envelopes
Please remember to send back the signed envelopes to the office. We have only received about 50% of the envelopes. We do reuse them at the end of the school year. The report card is for you to keep. Thank you.

“Walking with the Saints” Trivia!
If you think you know the answer to the question below, then write your name, grade, and guess on a piece of paper and turn it in to Mrs. King in the office. We are lifelong learners of our Catholic faith. There is so much to learn!
Last Week: Evelyn White had the correct answer!!! C. Carnival is the time which precedes Lent.
Question of the Week: Why do Catholics receive ashes for Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the penitential season lasting 40 days?
- Ashes symbolize our mortality and ongoing need for repentance through Christ’s passion.
- Ashes remind us of Palm Sunday.
- The ashes received will bless us as we go through lent.
