Just a reminder that procurement of items and sponsorships for our auction continues. All items and sponsorships are due by January 22. The auction chairs are specifically looking for donations to restaurants in the Seattle area as well as gift cards to hotels if you are looking for ideas to contribute!!
It takes many hands and talents to make all the planning come together for this incredibly important event! Below is a link to sign up for auction volunteer opportunities that all count toward fundraising volunteer hours. We hope you’ll join the team to help make it a wild success! Please note that the clean up crew will earn 2 volunteer hours for every 1 hour worked! If you already signed up for a volunteer role, be on the look-out for more details in the upcoming weeks!

Please provide a copy of your receipt when you drop off the wine at the office.
PTC News
PTC General Meeting will take place January 26th at 7:00 pm, however we are shifting to a strictly virtual format – there will be no in person meeting. As such we have decided to postpone the presentation from Litzia until our April meeting since this will be a much more meaningful program in person. Our meeting will focus on the rapidly approaching Growing Great Kids Auction, with additional updates on PTC financials for the year and upcoming events through the end of the year. As always, if at least one parent attends the meeting your children will earn free dress for Thursday January 27th.

Catholic Schools Week
Free Rapid Tests
Testing is an important tool to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Public health experts and the CDC recommend that Americans use at-home tests if they begin to have symptoms, at least five days after coming in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, or are gathering indoors with a group of people who are at risk of severe disease or unvaccinated.
To help ensure Americans have tests on hand if a need arises, the federal government will make FREE tests available to every household, and to promote broad access, the initial program will allow four free tests to be requested per residential address. Starting January 19th, Americans will be able to order their tests online at COVIDTests.gov, and tests will typically ship within 7-12 days of ordering. Tests will NOT be sent automatically- you must follow the link to order.
Development News
THANK YOU, ASSUMPTION COMMUNITY & SUPPORTERS!! We did it; we surpassed our goal for the Growing with Grace Annual Fund. From the staff and administration, we are genuinely grateful for such a strong show of support in this community. This translates into being able to continue and grow our programs in art and technology, while remaining affordable and accessible to all who desire Catholic education. The students were very excited to see the last leaf go on our tree out front, and it is very rewarding to know all those dollars raised will be going right back into the school to enhance their time at Assumption. Thank you again!
Correction: My apologies to you all, I misunderstood which class had put on the nativity play before Christmas at Barkley Village Haggen. It was the 4th graders, not the 2nd graders who performed and decided collectively to give their proceeds to the “Annual Fund Tree”. Mrs. Thomas’s class, thank you for your donation & your hearts for our school! – Shannon Zebrowski
Girls’ Volleyball begins Monday, January 31st
Sign-up forms are in this week’s envelope for girls’ volleyball. Thank you to Mrs. Whelan for agreeing to coach again this season.
Parent Satisfaction Survey Results 2021-2022
We’ve compiled a summary of the 45 responses that came in from the parent survey in November/December. Thank you for the time you took to complete this for our planning purposes.
Care & Concern Ministry
A meal train has been set up to support the Smith Family: Emma, Jason, Micah [8th], Arianna, Isabella [3rd], and Benjamin [PreK]) as Emma transitions into bedrest, awaiting the arrival of Baby Liam at the end of January. Your gift of a meal will be greatly appreciated!

Playground Angels
Please consider signing up for a recess shift or two! Angels help keep our students safe on the playground, which we are so grateful for. Thank you in advance for your help!
School Mass this Friday
Due to the surge in COVID cases in our community, this Friday, January 21st, the third grade (who are leading again this week) will go to the church for Mass. All other classes will stream from their classrooms. Parents of those students attending are welcome to join. We ask that visitors sit in the north and south transepts instead of with the students. Masks are required of everyone, regardless of vaccination status. We still plan for all students to be together for Mass starting on Friday, January 28th.
