Middle School Academic Support

Is your middle schooler struggling with understanding a certain concept or needing help catching up? More Tuesday Tutoring sessions have opened! Sessons start at 3:20 pm in Ms. Zech’s room (third floor) and pickup is at 4:00 pm by the office. NEW INFO: We are now asking parents, who are interested in signing up their middle schooler, to first register for EDP by the Monday prior to the Tuesday they wish their child to attend. This provides a safe space for their child to go to in the event that they cannot pick up their child by 4:00 pm. Extra EDP forms can be found in the office. With limited slots, take advantage of this FREE, small group support by signing up with this LINK!
After School Tutoring for Students in Grades 1-5th
Mrs. Williams is working with the student ambassadors to offer “Tuesday Tutoring” for students needing extra support on homework. Families, contact your child’s teacher and Mrs. King if you would like your child to attend. Sessions will run from 3:15-4:00 each Tuesday. Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Williams at bwilliams@assumption.school.
Mandatory Study Hall Tuesdays
Part of our mission at Assumption Catholic School is to help your child achieve academic excellence and put systems in place to help your child if falling behind.
This year, outside of class time, several staff have come together to provide ways to support your child in this effort. In addition to each teacher’s office hours and Tuesday Tutoring, we are adding one more component.
Each Friday, if your child is assessed at under 73% for any of their classes by 4pm Friday each week, they will need to attend a mandatory, in-school Study Hall the following Tuesday from 12-12:30. If your child is to attend, a confirmation email will be sent to you and your child by the office on Monday.
If your child manages to catch up over the weekend, they are still to attend this Study Hall to work on skill-building necessary to help prevent this occurrence again.
In addition to attending this mandatory Tuesday Study Hall, students will not be allowed to play in registered, after-school ACS sports for that entire week.
Each Friday, unless announced otherwise, the same process will follow.
As a reminder, if your child has any questions about their work or marking of particular assignments, they are encouraged to talk to their teacher first. Parents and guardians, along with their children, are encouraged to check their child’s FACTS account on a weekly basis. Thank you for your understanding of our commitment to support your child.
Become a Parent Ambassador!

As we look ahead to the next couple of years, the majority of our wonderful parent ambassadors will be graduating out of the program. We’re looking for a new group of warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable parents to help us continue making Assumption feel like home for new and prospective families.
Parent ambassadors assist with:
- New Family Orientation (held the day before school begins)
- One of our annual Open Houses (November or February, on a Sunday)
- Occasionally offering support to families who join mid-year
Volunteers will be contacted ahead of time for availability. These duties count as fundraising volunteer hours as they are considered marketing efforts for the school.
If you’re interested in joining this special team, please reach out to Dayna Dennis at ddennis@assumption.school. We are so grateful to our current ambassadors for making the program what it is and look forward to growing our ranks with more amazing Assumption parents!
Pumpkin Carving Winners!
Our student ambassador team was thrilled to receive a record 22 great submissions for our annual pumpkin carving contest this morning! We wish we had more prizes to award as they were all spook-tacular! Here were the standouts:
- Creative- Zoey Z., 6th
- School Spirit- Macie P., 7th
- Spooky- Kate N., 8th grade
- Funny- James R., 2nd
- Best in Show- Maddie D., 6th
Maddie won the entry fee money collection of $42. Congratulations and thanks to all who helped!
Archery Club Paused for 2025–26
We regret to inform our Assumption families that due to how NASP (National Archery in Schools Program) now qualifies schools for program participation and eligibility for competing in the state tournament, we will not be able to offer Archery Club this school year.
While this is disappointing news, we remain committed to keeping archery alive at Assumption. Ms. Eager is working to incorporate a brief archery unit into the 6th grade P.E. curriculum this year. This step will help us meet the new requirements and pave the way for the club’s return in the 2026-27 school year.
We appreciate your understanding and support, and we hope next year’s 5th–8th graders will be excited to pick up their bows once again!

Dia de Los Muertos Celebration

We are pleased to inform you that, as part of our annual celebration of the Day of the Dead, we will be preparing a beautiful altar at the school’s main entrance in honor of Mexican families and celebrating the lives of our dearly departed.

If you are willing to share a photograph, kindly bring it to the office with a frame Thursday 10/30 or Friday 10/31. Please include student’s name and grade in the back.

Peacemaker Virtue for November- Service
Service, also called the “Works of Mercy,” is Love in action!
It flows from the theological virtue of Charity—Love for God and neighbor—and shows itself in two ways: Care for the body (Corporal Works of Mercy) and care for the soul (Spiritual Works of Mercy). When we serve others, we are sharing God’s Love that He pours into our hearts through divine grace. Every act of service is our way of saying “yes” to God’s Love and sharing it with someone else.

Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:
“The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities.
- Spiritual Works of Mercy: Instructing, advising, consoling, comforting, forgiving, and baring wrongs patiently.
- Corporal Works of Mercy: feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead. Among all these, giving alms to the poor is one of the chief witnesses to fraternal charity: it is also a work of justice pleasing to God.” (CCC 2447)
This month let’s pray together:
Dear God, show me and my family where you are calling us to serve.
Open our eyes to see the needs around us- both body and soul.
Open our hearts to respond with Love.
Help us to use the gifts and talents you have given us
to share your Love with others. Amen.
NEW SAINT QUESTION OF THE WEEK 10.29.25
Many options for guessing who this Solemnity and Holy Day of Obligation is about. This second day of the Hallowtide Triduum is a special day for Catholics. It is celebrated on November 1st each year.
