Message from Mr. Ramos on the Accreditation Visit (3/23 – 3/25)

Our accreditation visit was a remarkable success. The visiting team was impressed with our self-report, our classrooms, and the overall operation of the school. To paraphrase the team leader, Dr. Rachel Rufus, Chief of Staff for the Office of Catholic Schools in Los Angeles: Assumption has been very transparent throughout this entire process, and that transparency is evident in classroom visits and in conversations with all stakeholders. This visit was easy to conduct because what was written in the report is exactly what we observed and heard. We have been to schools where the report in front of us does not match the school we are visiting.

The accreditation instrument consists of four domains with thirteen standards. Assumption received a rating of 3 (meets the standard and shows expected quality) in 12 of the 13 standards, and a 2 (partially meets the standard, with progress needed) in just one. According to the team, Assumption is close to a rating of 4 in several domains and standards. An executive summary is being shared with all parents through email. I will also be placing it on our website under SLE’s. Here is the link to read through the report.  Hard copies of the executive summary will also be available in the front office lobby.

Thank you,

E. Omar Ramos, Principal
