Dear Families,
I was so glad to see the smiling faces after Spring Break! We got to celebrate Easter with our buddies today. Check out the photos below!
Just to remind you that book reports are due on Tuesday! Students are to “sell” their book to us by being enthusiastic while telling about their story and how it is the best story ever! They may use Seesaw to film themselves, a PowerPoint, use props or whatever means they need to sell it to the audience! I sent home a blue sheet with the requirements and an example of the rubrics for it on Tuesday this week. Please ask your children and make sure they practice!

Academics
Religion – Fourth Grade Theologians celebrated Easter and had a fun Easter egg hunt today with our Pre-K buddies!
Language – We are having fun diving into Shiloh as a full class, discussing vocabulary and the nuances of this great book! They also got to participate in a Readers Theater to learn about Cause and Effect. Spelling focused on Unit 27 which was learning about the suffix -er. For writing, we are writing the first paragraph of our five-paragraph essay on our favorite pet.
Math – Fourth grade mathematicians finished a chapter on adding and subtracting fractions with our Ch. 11 test
Science – These scientists learned about friction. We talked a lot about the Artemis II and watched video/pictures of the flight and the landing! We loved it!
Social Studies – We are learning about Washingtonians lives of today, starting with how the geography effects our lives and they are learning about difference perspectives of cultures in our state. We started with Native Americans.
Specialists
Art – Fourth grade students completed their sculptures by adding detailed decorations and texture, thoughtfully refining their work. They carefully selected colors and combinations to enhance meaning, balance, and overall artistic expression.
Spanish – We finished practicing how to form sentences that includes who, what, and where. They will have a test on Monday, the 20th.
Music – This week in music we are…practicing how to read chord charts and play chords on the ukulele, dancing the circle dance Toembaii while practicing teamwork and learning about ostinato (a repeating pattern) and learning strumming technique on the ukulele, focusing on relaxed wrist motion.
Physical Education – In PE this week, 3rd-5th grade students took on the FitnessGram Push-Up and Flexibility Tests like champions! While waiting their turn, they stayed active at student-choice stations including ping pong, volleyball, basketball, 4-square, pickleball, and jump rope. So many ways to stay მოძრng and engaged!
