Fabulous Fourth Grade Newsletter – February 28, 2025 edition

Dear Families, February 28, 2025

This week we have finished learning about Force and Motion with a fun egg activity! Then we researched some kind flight from a creature or thing and related it to the different forces. Next week students will be deciding, designing and creating something about flight or force and motion with a partner. We will be doing all of the work here and creating a display for it too. The Science Fair is set for March 20th evening. Please put this on your calendar!

On Monday, March 3rd, it will be “Read Across America” Day. Students may dress up in a character from a book. We will be reading with our Pre-K buddies on Monday too!

This Wednesday starts our Lenten season with Ash Wednesday. You are welcome to come to the Mass at 12:30 pm to receive ashes and begin this journey with us. Speaking of Lent, last Sunday my family and I went to Mass at St. Peter’s in Deming. There was a calendar for “Lent is for Loving” for families to do during Lent. I have put a copy in your child’s Friday Folder, if you’re interested.

Dear Families, February 24, 2025

We had a short but full week! The science fair is in the forefront of our minds! We began with learning about Force and Motion while focusing on Newton’s Three Laws of Motion. Please ask your children about them! If they need reviewing, here is the link to the video we watched. We will be moving toward flight next week and then designing and developing prototypes of objects that show Force and Motion. The Science Fair is set for March 20th evening. Please put this on your calendar!

To celebrate, later in the month, on March 31st, we will be going to the Museum of Flight. Thanks to the Baldwin Family, we are going to be participating in a class about flying a plane along with using a simulator. Your children are very excited! Permission slips will go out in next week’s Wednesday envelope. We will need drivers and chaperones!

Because it was a short week, Friday Folders were not sent home today.
