Students in 7th grade are required to accumulate 12 hours of volunteering work outside of their normal responsibilities per semester. The work must be unpaid and ungraded to count towards service hours.
Examples of service hours: mowing for a neighbor (unpaid), cleaning up litter at a park, serving at Mass, helping teachers with extra work, helping with school events
Mass Participation: Students who help with greeting or collection of gifts during Mass will earn 0.5 hours, students who help altar serve, read or lead prayers of the faithful will earn 1 hour
Submitting Hours: Students can submit their service hours through having a parent email Mrs. Ernest with details on the activities they participated in and the length of time they worked. Students may also turn in a written list of their activities and hours spent with a parent signature. Hours are due by the end of the semester.
