Students in 7th grade are required to accumulate 12 hours of volunteering work outside of their normal responsibilities per semester. The work must be unpaid and ungraded to count towards service hours.
Examples of service hours: mowing for a neighbor (unpaid), cleaning up litter at a park, serving at Mass, helping teachers with extra work, and helping with school events (that the family is not receiving reimbursement for)
Mass Participation: Students who help altar service during Saturday or Sunday Mass may record one (1) hour per instance.
WeGrow Garden: Our 7th grade class has a wonderful opportunity to volunteer for four (4) hours/semester at the WeGrow Garden this year! More information can be found here on the religion page. Students can record any hours they attend with the class.
Submitting Hours: Record the dates, hours, and a short description of the service activity on a piece of paper each time you earn them. Towards the end of each semester, Ms. Zech will reach out with a log for you to fill out. Parents will be asked to initial in acknowledgement of each instance. Logs will need to be submitted on time for any credit awarded.
