Happy Friday! It was a busy week and the students worked extremely hard!
Book Reports -All students have selected their books for March, so please ask them about these. They receive at least 15 minutes every day in class to read, however many of these should be going back and forth. It’s been fun to see them select books they have seen other’s read and present about. This is what it is all about! 🙂

Academics
Literacy – This week we read a fictional story about rabbit and coyote. In writing students completed the finishing touches on their writing and learned Canva to create the graphics for the class book. Our grammar skill is comparative and superlative adjectives and adverbs, a challenging concept!
Math -Our focus this week is on perimeter. We were fortunate to have two parent volunteers (Thank you Mrs. Rapanich and Mrs. Dinwiddie!) which helps centers flow and allow me the opportunity to meet all the students at their levels.
Religion -We continue with our daily Lenten videos. Each day we go through part of the Mass, which is very informative! Third graders are currently learning the Apostles Creed, our big third grade prayer to memorize. For our Religion Book we are covering virtue and vice.
Music -This week in music we are…Learning about Māori culture in New Zealand and practicing a stick-passing routine to the song E Papa, focusing on timing and teamwork. Learning to play B, A, and G on the recorder, reading music with those notes, and preparing Orange Belt songs to pass off on Friday.
ESPAÑOL, 3rd -We played Bingo using vocabulary related to parts of the body, means of transportation, classroom objects, and others. In addition to learning vocabulary, students are also learning the correct article for each word, whether is masculine or feminine EL or LA.
PE -Students reviewed long jump rope turning and jumping while practicing jump rope rhymes and songs. We also played a fun timing and coordination game called Run Through School.
Art -Students are learning about swamps and cypress trees while exploring the elements of contrast, line, and space. They choose colors, cut stumpy cypress trees, and assemble them to create their own layered swamp landscapes.
