Students are expected to follow the classroom and school expectations.
When a rule is broken, I will do the following (in order, one step at a time if behavior persists):
- Student will be given a verbal warning.
- The student and I will have a one-on-one conversation.
- The student will do an independent reflection (Think Sheet), and home/principal will be contacted.
We can hold a follow-up conference to remedy the issue if necessary.
In serious cases of bullying or violence, I will skip the verbal warnings and send students to the principal’s office with a behavior report. Bullying is NOT tolerated.
Stopbullying.gov defines bullying as: “Unwanted, aggressive behavior among school-aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated or has the potential to be repeated over time.”
