6th Math – Mrs. VonFeldt/Mrs. Evans & Mr. Sherwood
This week, in 6th grade math, we will continue our work with ratios. We will learn about equivalent ratios, and how to use ratios in our daily life. Understanding ratios is a useful life skill to have! We will assess our ratio skills on Thursday with a quiz. Heres a video that explores ratios we see in our daily lives:

In 7th grade, we will continue studying algebraic expressions. We will review like terms and the rules for combining them. Then, we will learn about the distributive property. Next, we will review factoring and learn how to find the greatest common factor in terms. Finally we will learn how to factor algebraic expressions. We will finish off the short week with a quiz on Thursday on algebraic expressions. Heres a video about the distributive property:

This week, in 8th grade math we will continue learning about graphing. We will review plotting points and move on to graphing whole lines. We will learn about slope-intercept form and what ‘m’ and ‘b’ represent. We will have a quiz on Friday about graphing. Here is a intro video on slope intercept form:
Algebra – Mrs. VonFeldt & Mrs. Evans
This week in Algebra, students will be practicing graphing with the slope-intercept form of equations. This form of the equation makes graphing quite easy as it tells what the y-intercept and slope are right away. Here is a video showing how to graph:
