Dear PreKindergarten Families: This week we talked about American children and how children are different but also the same. We also talked about Grandparents: they are our parents’ parents and how they love their grandchildren.
Homework: Does your child know his/her middle name, birthday and parents’ first names?

Coming Up: Monday is the prayer service for our “Giving Thanks” donations to the Hope House and afterwards the human food chain. The Prek class will be helping deliver their donations. .

Dear Preschool Families: This week we learned about our five senses using some hands-on activities and identifying “which sense do we use…?”
Homework: You can enhance your child’s five senses knowledge by asking “which sense do you use for…” and, as always, count, spell their name and see if they can recite their birthday.

Dear Preschool Families: We continued with our transportation unit this week, talking about airplanes and buses. The children designed paper airplanes which they learned how to fly in the gym. They loved that! We also talked about our service project which helps people who may not have as much as we do and we came up with ways to be kind on “Kindness” day. Homework: Continue to read to them and spell their names. Thank you.

We will also continue to talk about being thankful for the things we have in our lives.
We will be posting a sign-up for our Thanksgiving Day Feast which takes place on Tuesday, November 26. Remember: You won’t have to pack a lunch for those who stay the whole day. We will have our feast and also serve a little snack in the afternoon.

Dear PreKindergarten Families: This week we talked about children who live in Europe and Africa. We point out that no matter where in the world children live, we are all different, but all the same. The children learned a dance which originated in Switzerland: The Bird Dance. We also talked about our service project, which we do to help others who may not have much.
Homework: Please continue reading to your child, counting items and 1-31 and spelling their name.

Coming Up
Next week we will finish up our Children of the World unit with American children and children at play.
Next Friday is Grandparents’ Day. The children’s grandparents are invited to join in the reception at 9:00 in the gym followed by Mass at 10:45. The whole PreK will be attending the first 20 minutes of mass. Grandparents are welcome to have their grandchild attend with them.
There is also a Book Fair in the school Library which we encourage all families to view. We will be posting the sign-up for the PreK Thanksgiving Feast which will be held on Monday, November 25. Remember: You won’t have to pack a lunch for those who stay. The feast is lunch and we will be serving a snack in the afternoon.
