PreKindergarten Weekly Newsletter: October 21-25, 2019

Dear PreKindergarten Families: This week we learned about bats and skeletons. Every week we work on being a friend, being kind, listening and letting others listen. We talk about praying; that we can pray any time and God will listen. We also thank Jesus for our blessings. The Children were so reverential during their first Mass. We were so proud of them!  Homework:  Please continue having your child spell his/her name to you and please read to your child, 1-2 books every day would be so helpful to them.  Thank you!  ~Lorri, Nancy and Rita~

This will be a month-long effort for our preschool classes.

Dear PreK Families:  We did some work with Pumpkins and gourds, comparing and contrasting and the growth cycle. We also finished our “God created the World” book and the children learned a song to go with that project. We had an earthquake drill on Thursday with the Preschool and 5-day children. HOMEWORK: Please go over the “Stop, drop and cover” practice with your child, and please continue to spell your child’s name.

Dear Preschool Families:  We are learning about farms and farm life, how cows and horses help farmers.  Our skills practice art project is recognizing shapes, assembling and gluing a picture of a barn with animals from handprints. We also had a visit from Firefighter Gary who reminded us the number to call in an emergency is 9-1-1 and to “stop, drop, cover face and roll” if clothing ever catches fire.

Dear PreK Families:   We had a special visitor this week in PreKindergarten. Mr. Gary Blas is a fire fighter who showed the children his fire fighter gear and also taught them the number to call in an emergency, what to do if their clothes ever caught on fire and different safe and not safe things to play with.  HOMEWORK: Please practice saying the number 9-1-1 for emergencies, “stop, drop and roll” (and cover face) in case of fire on clothing and never touch matches, lighters, stove, candles, BBQs, etc.
