Science fun with Newton’s Laws of Motion

Have you ever asked a five-year-old why we fall to the ground instead of fly when we jump into the air?

Have you ever asked a five-year-old why when we bump into each other why we all of a sudden stop and “bounce” back off of each other?

Or ask them why it’s so hard to run in the sand but so easy to run on the pavement?

They love knowing the “adult” real answers! We made ramps with different objects to test out friction and tossed up balloons to learn about gravity. Simple play teaches children why learning about motion is so important in everyday

activities.
