Fabulous Fourth Grade Newsletter – October 25, 2024 edition

Dear Families, October 25, 2024

We are well on our way of “diving” into our salmon unit! We have created our own watersheds collaboratively We have researched about the five types of salmon and their life cycle. Next week we will talk about what threatens salmon as well as having our first field trip on Wednesday, October 30th!

Speaking of the field trip, if you have received a second permission slip in your child’s Friday Folder then I have not received your child’s back from you. Please fill it out and send it back. If it isn’t signed and returned by Wednesday, your child may not participate! So, please get it in!

Students may wear their casual dress uniform. The weather looks like rain and cold. We will be outside the entire time. So, students must dress accordingly!

If you signed up for chaperoning the field trip, you will receive the information on the field trip in your child’s Friday Folder too. You also MUST have taken the “Protecting God’s Children” course from the Archdiocese. Please do this if you are volunteering on this field trip before Wednesday. Here is the link to get started. Thank you for volunteering!

Our class is responsible for the Veterans’ Day prayer service on November 7th. Please invite anyone who is a veteran to it so we can honor them. Also, if your children are scouts, please have them wear their uniform! Your children will be picking parts on Monday. I will send home what they should practice and then we will practice two times in the church on November 4th and 5th.

The Lane family generously obtained four full salmon for us to dissect on November 14th at 1:15. We will also be creating salmon prints. We need volunteers to do this! So, please go here to sign up for helping out at that time!

Mrs. Scarlett, our new student teacher, started with us this week. She mostly observed and helped in small groups or individuals. She will begin to teach math shortly.

Book reports will be due on October 29th. Students will be writing a report in school. No need to do anything at home, except for making sure your child is keeping up on the reading!

A weekend with Pebbles is here at this SignUpGenius.

Blessings,

Paula A. Martin-Zender

Welcome, Mrs. Scarlett!
