Dear Families, September 20, 2024
Your children are doing wonderfully at their MAP testing! They are taking their time! Thank you for your support at home by setting them up with a good breakfast and good sleep! Most have finished both of their reading and their science tests. Next week: math and language. They will be on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Makeups will be on Wednesday and Friday.
We had fun creating our Three-Dimensional Mythical Creatures! Students are now writing about them! Next week, the fifth graders will be evaluating them!
Book reports are due on Thursday! Each student has a bag to put things that remind them of the book and talk about it on Thursday. Please have them practice it for you before Thursday!
Come to the Harvest Festival on Saturday! It is so much fun!
I will begin with parent volunteers helping during math time on October 3rd. Here is the sign up for Math Volunteers. Thank you for your support!
A weekend with Pebbles is here at this SignUpGenius.
Blessings,
Paula A. Martin-Zender

Religion – Fourth Grade Theologians began reading from their religion books. The first chapter is God’s loving plan discussing what true happiness is. We are learning about St. Thomas Aquinas.
Language – Fourth grade readers reviewed/learned about dictionary skills. We practiced looking up various words, discussing pronunciations and meanings. We previewed our book: My Father’s Dragon and read the first chapter today. We also looked up vocabulary words. In Spelling, we covered the long a sound using a, ai and ay. Finally in writing, fourth graders are going to be writing about our mythical creatures that we created both using fiction and information writing.
Math – Mathematicians are reviewing how to add big numbers. Keep practicing facts!
