Spring Cleanup- We only need three more volunteers!

There’s still time to fulfill volunteer hours for the year, especially for anyone who needs to find hours outside of the typical workday. Our wonderful parishioner and grounds-beautifier, Mrs. Janis Jacobs, works tirelessly to keep the church and school grounds looking their best! She could use a few more pairs of hands as we get ready to welcome Spring!

Please join a work party with Janis this Saturday, March 26th to trim branches, pick up debris, and do general grounds maintenance. Your time will count toward school hours and is greatly appreciated! Sign up for a slot (or two) here: Work Party Sign Up

Mother’s Day flower baskets

Please support the class of 2022 by purchasing Mother’s Day Baskets delivered before Mother’s Day (order forms went home today). Funds raised will support the class spring retreat and graduation. We are excited to partner with Van Wingerden Greenhouse in Blaine again this year. They offer many different varieties of baskets which include full sun and full sun part / shade to fit every need. Pick up early for best selection! If you have questions, please contact Nikki Lockhart at nikanak@comcast.net.

The class of 2022 thanks you in advance for your support.!

Science Fair tri-fold boards

Tri-fold boards are for sale in the office. If your child needs one of these for his/her science fair project at the Science Fair on April 22nd, boards can be purchased in the office for $3 each. Please send cash in the Wednesday Envelope with a note explaining what it is for and how many you need.

The final numbers are in, and the auction brought in a total of $186,000. After taking out expenses, the proceeds are close to $160,000 for the PTC, including $36,000 raised for Fund the Need.

There are still many spaces available for the Crab Cruise on Saturday, May 13th. It needs four more participants to break even, and anything over that is profit for the school. You can email Angie King if you’d like to be put on the list for the Crab Cruise which leaves the dock at 6:30 pm and returns at 9:30 pm: aking@assumption.school

Fun Run volunteers

It’s time to get started on making this fun Assumption tradition a great success! The team is currently looking for parents to help collect sponsorships. This effort earns fundraising volunteer hours and can be done from home. If you’re interested in helping, please contact Eloisa Townsend: elmiquiabas@hotmail.com

Staffing Updates

There are no new vacancies to post at this time, but we continue to search for candidates for two open positions- preschool assistant teacher and full-time office assistant. Visit the school’s website under “Employment Opportunities” to see the job postings and refer anyone who may be interested.

Lenten Almsgiving

BRING YOUR DIMES THIS WEEK and QUARTERS NEXT WEEK! Each week during Lent, we will focus on bringing a different coin to fill our school’s Lenten Almsgiving Jar (this is separate from your family Rice Bowl). You may want to give coins to your child in a small envelope or Ziploc for transporting to their classroom. This week is dimes! This money will be given to the Rice Bowl, which benefits Catholic Relief Services, reaching families all around the world! We will be collecting nickels until Monday, March 28, when it switches to quarters.
