Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for the afternoon of Thursday, November 5th and all day on Friday, November 6th. Instead of in-person conferences, these will be scheduled Zoom calls with parents. The Zoom link will be emailed by the teacher to all families during the week of conferences. For classes that have large numbers, teachers may contact you to schedule a conference on a day other than Nov. 5th and 6th if these days won’t work. Sign-Up Genius links are listed below for each grade level and each specialist teacher, so please sign up for the most convenient times. Middle school students should sign up with the homeroom teacher but can request other teachers to be present in that conference. Middle school math is scheduled separately. Individual reports for MAP Testing (Grs. 2-8 only) will be coming in the Wednesday Envelope on Nov. 4th so that you will have that information in advance of the conference. Students and parents are invited to attend the conference for grades 2-8.

This week, second through eighth grade parents will find the Family Report of your child(ren)’s MAP test results in the Wednesday Envelope. These will be helpful in the discussion with your child’s teacher in the conference this Thursday or Friday, but for more information on how to read the report you can also visit the NWEA site for parent resources here.
Food Collection for Hope House
Between now and Friday, November 20th, our school will be collecting food donations for Hope House. Items can be sent with your child or brought to the front doors to place beneath the large logo in our entryway. A lovely poster adorns the drop off area- if we cover it entirely with donations, students will receive free dress!
On Monday, November 23rd, each class will take turns carrying items from our collection to the Hope House doors. A prayer service and blessing of the food will begin at 8:30 with our students joining from their classrooms.
Canned and boxed items are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support in assisting our community members in need!
Our Third Grade class will be leading school Mass and celebrating veterans on Friday, November 13th. The students are making a large paper flag containing names of veterans to be remembered. If you would like the name(s) of any family members added to their flag, please email Mrs. M-Z: email@example.com.

Thank you to the parents who participated in our first PTC General Meeting on a Zoom call last Wednesday. All students of these families earn a Free Dress for Thursday, November 5th. For all other students, Thursday is a Casual Uniform day (with jeans and Assumption t-shirt).

8th Grade Class Poinsettia and Wreath Fundraiser
Christmas is just around the corner! Please help support the 8th grade class by purchasing lovely poinsettias from Vanwingerden Gardens and greenery from Sherwood Farms in Lacey for your holiday decor. All proceeds support 8th grade spring retreat and graduation. Thank you in advance for supporting the class of 2021!
Please note it’s a quick turnaround and orders need to be in by Monday, November 9th. An example of the 28″ wreath is on display the school lobby and order forms went home again in today’s envelope (just in case you need more)!
Yearbooks are already underway and this year we are ordering now rather than spring to get a better idea on numbers. Your student will treasure the memories for years to come. An order form can be found here and are due by November 13th.
Thank you to everyone who took the time out of their busy schedule to join us for our first General PTC Meeting last Wednesday on Zoom. We enjoyed getting to see and interact virtually with you all and share our updates for the year ahead. We are considering a guest speaker for the next meeting and would love to hear from you on topics you’d be interested in hearing about. Please contact Stephanie Wolf at firstname.lastname@example.org with suggestions, comments or questions.
For those who missed the PTC General Meeting last Wednesday, you can view a recording of it here.
Passcode is hf8XjvH#
The recording begins after the Principal’s Report and part way through the Treasurer’s Report with Anthony Petz giving that update. All other reports from the PTC and Auction are included in the 42-minute recording. Thank you!
This year, we are honoring grandparents by sending them notes and letters since we won’t be able to meet them in person on November 20th. Thank you to Spencer Cassar, a new Kindergarten parent, for helping to organize it this year. In preparation for the notes and letters, the teachers need grandparents’ addresses so that we can send these from the school. They will be written, addressed, and sent from the classrooms by Friday, November 13th.
Additionally, Room Parents will be filming students from individual classes with virtual messages to grandparents. Therefore, if you have an email address for the grandparent please include it in the form. To provide addresses, please click on this digital survey and fill it out with the important information. It’s important to celebrate our grandparents from the COVID-safe environment, so your help is greatly appreciated!
SWAG: We are now taking pre-orders for ACS Masks (adult size) as we have a new supply coming in soon. Email email@example.com and note the number of adult masks as you’d like (they will be here in 2-ish weeks and cost $12.) These cotton masks are durable, double layered, and comfortable! You can still order kid-sized ACS masks for your students which are available at the school front desk.
Yard Signs: New families and incoming Kindergartners: If you would rather not keep or store your “Welcome to Assumption” yard sign, you can feel free to bring it back to the office to be re-used for years to come.
