Wednesday Parent Newsletter 5.20.20

Congratulations to our Volunteer Appreciation honorees today!

Our Volunteer of the Year, Sara Rush, went way above and beyond our wildest expectations in service to the PTC, Faculty and Staff, and our entire school community this year.  She has a huge heart, works tirelessly for the good of Assumption and gets things done!

We also thank Sara for her incredible work leading as PTC President this year.  It was successful not only in fundraising, but in the many community-building events and support to our teachers they provided.

Tara Gilligan Reimer, this year’s Servant Award recipient, is a true servant leader.  As a member of the School Commission and Admissions and Retention Committee, Tara lends so much of her time and talent to helping ACS thrive into the future.  She does this selflessly and quietly and we are so appreciative of her support in so many ways.

We also recognize Aimee Bachmeier for three years of service to the Commission, serving as Chairperson this year.  Aimee led efforts with our other dedicated Commission members across the school and county parishes to drive the success of Assumption.

Please join us in celebrating these honorees and the generous gifts they are to our school!

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” Romans 12:8

 Did you know?

On the Ascension, the 40th day after the Resurrection, Jesus ascended into Heaven, promising to send the Holy Spirit to His followers (see Acts 16:5-11). On the day after the Solemnity of the Ascension (this Friday, although the liturgical celebration of Ascension is transferred to Sunday) begins the Church’s oldest novena prayers. These powerful prayers ask God to send His Holy Spirit powerfully into our hearts, minds and souls. Come Holy Spirit!!

ASSUMPTION VOLUNTEERS ARE LOVED!

Our deepest appreciation for the thousands of volunteer hours you gave this year in service to our school.  Our families are the heart of ACS and so much of what we do is because of your support.

THANK YOU!

“At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents.”

Help us by referring new families

Thank you to so many of you who are actively sharing our story referring your friends to Assumption. We are offering a special promotion for families who enroll for 2020-2021 if they want to be involved in our distance learning program for the remainder of the current school year. The following announcement is going in parish bulletins the next two weekends, and you are welcome to share it with your friends, as well.

Assumption Catholic School is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Parents can access a virtual tour on the school’s website (school.assumption.org) to get a feel for the classrooms and programs offered. On-campus tours will likely be available starting from July 10th based on the governor’s mandates. Note: If a family chooses to enroll for the 2020-2021 school year, the child may be able to benefit from the distance learning program at Assumption in the final 4-5 weeks of the school year for a discounted tuition rate and receive recommendations for summer activities. Call or email theoffice@school.asssumption.org for more information on this unique opportunity.

Common Threads

The volunteers from Common Threads are looking for families to help organize the garden from now throughout the summer. Many hands are needed to keep it watered, weeded, and ready for the fall. If you have a green thumb and want to get a head start on hours for next year, please sign up to help. For reference, here is Assumption’s Garden Care Info. This is a document for volunteers, including COVID-19 safety protocols, as well as the SignUpGenius form for volunteers to use to reserve slots.
