“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” Romans 12:6

Did you know?

St. Valentine is the patron saint of beekeepers and epilepsy, among many other things. People call on him to watch over the lives of lovers, of course, but also for interventions regarding beekeeping and epilepsy, as well as the plague, fainting and traveling.

Principal’s Coffee tonight

All parents are welcome to join Mr. Anderson tonight, Wednesday, February 12th at 5 pm in the Library.  He’ll share some school news, answer questions and have time for open discussion.

Cell phone reminder

Please remember to put down your cell phone while driving through the traffic loop (or expect a gentle reminder from one of the teachers on duty). It’s important that cars drive slowly and pay attention to the children on the sidewalks since so many are roaming about at those times. Thank you for also remembering the 5 MPH speed limit in the traffic loop.

Report Cards

Semester 1 report cards went home last week. If you haven’t already, please be sure to sign and return just the envelope to confirm receipt/review.  Thank you!

Congratulations to our middle school students achieving Honor Roll!  Please see the complete listing and be sure to give them a pat on the back if you have a chance.

Open House success

Thank you to all our families who turned out for the Open House on Sunday. It has been our most successful Open House to date in terms of the number of new families who attended. That is also thanks to your invitations to neighbors and friends. We are now accepting registration forms for new families, but will wait to accept any new students until after March 1st. The winner of the Cookie Contest was Jessica Sidhu, and the raffle winners for the QR Code adventure were the Adams Family (Josie and Therese) and Blake McGuire!

Note: Schedule change for Wednesday, February 19th

Our wise faculty have decided our students would greatly benefit from some instruction time back (even though we’re not required to make up the days missed from snow week). We have changed February 19th so that it is no longer an Early Release day- it instead will be a regular full school day

 Auction Volunteers Needed!

If you’re still in need of volunteer hours look no further. We have several fun ways for you to get your hours in. Please go to the volunteer portal (https://school.assumption.org/volunteer-portal/) and see what you can do to help support our school’s largest fundraiser! An important role we need filled ASAP is for two Live Concierges. You can earn 4-5 hours of volunteer time done in one night! This is a fun way to be a part of the Live portion of the auction!

All positions earn fundraising hours.

If you have any questions regarding the volunteer positions please email us at growinggreatkidsauction@gmail.com

RSVPs are due this Friday, February 14th by the end of the day. Tables are filling up fast so make sure to get yours in!

Check out Sneak Peek #3 of a live item in this week’s envelope.  It‘s our first featuring a class project!

PTC News

Spring is Coming! We will be having a Used Uniform Sale on Friday, February 21st! The kids can start wearing shorts and skorts again on March 1st and many of us have that child who can’t wait to wear them! We have plenty on hand, many of them brand new, as well as plenty of other items.  If you have any to donate, please drop them off at the office over the next week. If you’re interested in helping, please see the signup: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/805044DAFAC2AA3F85-used.

Many of you have already donated valuable hours of your time to our school, which is so appreciated!  Make sure and log them into the Volunteer Portal and make them count! It is very helpful to our Volunteer Tracker (https://school.assumption.org/volunteer-portal/) if our families do not wait until the end of the year to turn in all of their hours at once. If you are having difficulties with this, please contact Rob Jacobs at rm.jacobs@outlook.com

Hot Lunch for February will be on Tuesday, February 25th. Please mark your calendars and plan on joining your child for lunch that day!
