“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” Romans 12:6

 Did you know…?

Christmas Day through January 1st (the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God) is known as the Octave of Christmas. When Mass is said, the Liturgy gives clues that every day within the octave is treated the same as the original feast day of the Nativity of our Lord and the Gloria is usually repeated every day of the Octave. Fr. Moore will be celebrating the Octave of Christmas this year at Assumption and all families are welcome to attend.

LAST CHANCE- Fulcrum Foundation Tuition Assistance Deadline is January 8th

If you are applying for tuition assistance for the 2020-2021 school year, please complete the application no later than Wednesday, January 8th. You can access the FACTS website via the link on Fulcrum’s website (HERE). All families should already have a login and password for FACTS since we use this to collect tuition now. Use that information to log in to your account and follow the instructions for Tuition Assistance Grants.

Christmas Program and Attire

This year’s Christmas program will be on Thursday, December 19th at 7 pm. The doors to the church open at 6:30 pm. Students should meet their teachers in the classrooms at 6:30 and the teachers will walk them to the church for the concert. Eighth graders write the script for the program, but all classes have a part in singing throughout the evening. Kindergarten and First Grade will sit on the south side of the altar with their teachers. All other classes will be in the back half of the church. Note: There is no reception following the program this year since there is school on Friday and the program may go until 8:15 pm.

Students participating in the Christmas Program should come dressed in performance attire. Girls may wear a dress, skirt, or slacks/pants, (no jeans please), blouse/shirt/sweater/jacket. Boys may wear slacks/pants (no jeans please), collared shirt or jacket/sweater. A tie is optional. It is not required that families go out and purchase new Christmas clothes for the program. There are many options. The stairs going up to the Altar in the church can be slippery with certain types of shoes, so for safety reasons, students may want to wear non-slip shoes.

This Friday school Mass at 9:00, no EDP

Just a reminder that this Friday, December 20th, our school Mass will be held at 9:00 and led by our 3rd Graders.  It is also an Early Release Day at 11:45, but students must be in dress uniform for Mass.  Peacemakers will be recognized for November/December and all are welcome!

Just a reminder there will be no EDP so our staff may also begin to enjoy the Christmas break.  Thank you!

Entryway Floor Party!

Looking for volunteers to help remove the current entryway floors December 21 and 22 starting at 9 am. If you can only come for 3-4 hrs, we will take you!  Many hands make light work! We will be tearing up the linoleum and carpet, scraping the glue off the cement underneath, and sanding and staining the preschool backpack rack.  We will also need someone to help with the new floor install during winter break. These days are pending, based on the installer’s availability and when the floor prep is ready. It will be between December 23 and January 2.  So, if you have a flexible Christmas schedule and can help please follow the link for more information:

Please join us for our next PTC General Meeting on January 8th in the school Library starting at 7 pm. EDP will provide FREE childcare and your younger children are welcome to stay with you during the meeting if you like.

Please make a change to your calendars that the Hot Lunch that was originally scheduled for Wednesday February 26th will be moved to Tuesday February 25th instead of having it on Ash Wednesday.
