Track Coach Needed

Assumption Catholic School is seeking at track and field coach for the 2018-2019 school year. This stipend position starts at $500 for a head coach, increasing incrementally by $250 for each consecutive year of coaching. However, school parents may waive the stipend to use parent volunteer hours instead. Coaches must be at 21 years old and have the flexibility to work afternoons from 3:30 to 4:45 pm. Practices are held Monday through Friday, and meets are also held during the week. The season runs for approximately nine weeks beginning in early April 2019. Please email Audra Rosen at if you are interested in learning more and submitting an application.

Non-Profit Give-Away

Each year, Bob Wallin Insurance gives money to non-profits in Whatcom County based on the number of votes received for the nomination. This year, the Assumption School Foundation has been nominated. We need at least 600 votes, so we are asking all school families, their families and friends, and parishioners to submit a vote for the school. After March 1st, go to and submit your vote with your email address. First place is $2000 towards our School Foundation. Thank you!

Drivers, PLEASE Slow Down…

I’ve received calls from neighbors and from a parent at Bellingham High School that some of our parents are pulling out of our parking lot very fast in the morning. We’ve also noticed less attention at the crosswalks in our own parking lot. Please remember that many students are around our school and on the sidewalks during this time of the morning. Be especially vigilant, especially around crosswalks. Thank you for your attention to this.

Growing Great Kids Auction Information

The Growing Great Kids Auction and Gala is this Saturday, March 2nd! We have sold out for the second year in a row! The silent auction runs from 5-7 PM and is followed by the Live auction and dinner from 7-10 PM. Thank you to the many sponsors and volunteers who came together to ensure this event will be a success. We can’t wait to celebrate with you this weekend! Final Sneak Peek!

“Protecting God’s Children” Class

The Wednesday evening last month may have been hard for people to attend, so there is a new class scheduled for another Protecting God’s Children class at Assumption in the school library, on Saturday, March 30th from 9-12. Please register under “live training” on .  If you’d like to volunteer for the school or parish, this class is required for all volunteers.

Friday Lenten Soup Suppers

Come join us in the Assumption gym for Lenten Soup Suppers each Friday during Lent! Suppers are at 6:30 pm beginning March 8th and continue each Friday until April 12th.  Bring a pot of meatless soup or some bread and join Father Scott and your fellow parishioners for this community-building event! If you are going to 6 PM Stations of the Cross, drop your soup off at the gym beforehand and we’ll be sure it stays warm. We’ll look forward to seeing you.

Rice Bowls

Join our school community—and more than 14,000 Catholic communities across the United States—in a life-changing Lenten journey of encounter with CRS Rice Bowl. Your family’s CRS Rice Bowl is included in this week’s envelope. Look for weekly reflections throughout Lent. During the 40 days of Lent, as companions on the journey, we will encounter our neighbor.

FACTS Tuition Management (Updated information as of 2/20/19)

Please remember to sign up for a FACTS plan payment before March 15th (the sooner, the better). Some parents had asked if it must be automatically be withdrawn from a person’s bank account. This is only one of the payment options. You can set up to be invoiced and then pay it online or submit a payment when you are ready. You can pay by credit card (fee is charged to you), a personal check to FACTS, cash to the school office, or an automatic debit. This needs to be done by March 15th so that you can be charged the $250 registration fee per child. If the registration isn’t paid, then your child won’t be on next year’s class list so please do this as soon as you’ve turned in your registration paperwork. Remember, if you already have an account in FACTS because you apply for tuition assistance, you will not need to set up a new account. English Instructions / Spanish Instructions
