State of the SchoolTONIGHT!

Mark your calendars for the State of the School address (required participation by at least one parent from all K-8 families) on Wednesday, February 6th from 7 pm to 8 pm. Free child care is provided by the EDP staff in the school library beginning at 6:45 pm. You will receive your registration packet for the 2019-2020 school year, and we will help you register for FACTS Tuition Management if you haven’t already set it up.

8th Grade Fundraiser Opportunities

  • How about a night out on Valentine’s Day? The 8th grade class is providing childcare (age 3, toilet trained, and above) so you can get an evening out without the kids. The eighth graders are raising funds for their Washington D.C. trip. Please look for the flyer in your Wednesday Envelope. Growing Great Kids Auction Information

The Growing Great Kids Auction & Gala is less than a month away! We sold out last year so please get your RSVP’s in early. Gather a table together (all tables are 8 tops) of your family and friends! You can RSVP online at growinggreatkidsauction.com. If you did not receive an invitation or would like another to give one to a friend, we have plenty of extras. Come by the school office to pick them up. Have any out-of-town family members who might want to support the school, even if they can’t attend the auction? They can donate right on growinggreatkidsauction.com.

Thank You from the Lewis Family

We would like to thank our friends for organizing and the Assumption community for supporting the fabulous fundraiser for our family. We were blown away by all the work of many hands and generous donations that were given to our family. We are so appreciative of the help in our cancer fight. The many beautiful meals and this incredible fundraiser show how wonderful this community is and our family is forever grateful. God has blessed us with this wonderful community. A special thank you to Beverly Williams, Paula Martin-Zender, Lisa Twining and Carol Johnston for organizing the incredible carnival. Staci Johnson for decor and Stephanie Wolf for the Auction.

Parent Led School Mass

On Friday, February 8th at 10:30, the parents will lead the School Mass. We will need parents serving as reader for the Welcome, Lectors for the First Reading and for the Prayers of the Faithful, gift bearers and greeters.  The School Choir will sing at this Liturgy. Please email Susan Roland if you would like to serve at this School Liturgy. I will provide you with what you need to practice.  My email is susanroland@hotmail.com. Thank you for your help.

Multicultural and History Fair – Mark Your Calendars!

All school families should mark their calendars for Sunday, February 10th to celebrate the Multicultural and History Fair from 2 pm to 4 pm. Every student will be participating. A Sign-up Genius is included (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4FA5A82AA6F49-multicultural1) so that you might sign up to bring a favorite food from one of the many cultures around the world. Beginning at 2:00 pm, food will be shared, and students will perform songs and dances in the gym and will then be expected to present their work in their classrooms beginning at 3:15 pm.

Ride the Bus 

In order to promote our new school bus, we are offering two things in February:

  1. Ride the bus to the Open House on Sunday, February 10th. All current families are invited to join prospective families on this “shuttle” from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lynden to Assumption Catholic School. The bus will leave from Lynden at 1:30 pm and return at 4 pm. Ride with your children and experience the fun!
  1. Ride the bus for free the week of February 11th to February 14th (There is no school on February 15th.) See if your family would benefit from this service. See the flier in this week’s envelope for more details and stops. If you think you’ll be participating, please email Mr. Anderson directly at danderson@school.assumption.org so that he might let the drivers know.

Fundraising Commitment Hours

SCRIP SELLERS NEEDED! Selling Scrip is a great way to earn fundraising hours. We need sellers for the following times:

  • Tuesday            2:45 – 3:15 pm
  • Wednesday      7:45 – 8:15 am
  • Thursday          2:45 – 3:15 pm
  • Friday               7:45 – 8:15 am

You don’t have to be available every week to sell.  Sell on one day a week or one day a month.  Our schedule is flexible!  Please email Angie King at aking@school.assumption.org and let her know if you are interested in selling Scrip and what days you are available!

Non-fundraising Commitment Hours

FACTS Tuition Management (Updated information)

The new method of payment will coincide with re-registration for families which will begin at the State of the School on Wednesday, February 6th. You will have until March 15th to fill out the registration paperwork and create your account in FACTS. Please see the flier and information in this week’s envelope that explains how to set this up. Remember, if you already have an account in FACTS because you apply for tuition assistance, you will not need to set up a new account.

Upcoming Calendar Items:

February 6th State of the School at 7 pm. Re-enrollment for current families begins.

February 10th – Multicultural and History Fair for all current families and prospective families 2 pm to 4 pm

February 15th– No school. Teacher work day.

February 18th– No school. President’s Day holiday

February 20th– Early Release Day with 11:45 am dismissal. Casual dress.
