Celebrate Communities Day

Assumption Catholic School students were visited by some real life superheroes on Thursday January 31st .   Representatives from local fire, EMS, Customs and Border Protection and Mountain Rescue were honored for their service to our community as part of Catholic Schools Week “Celebrate Communities Day”.

Students learned about a day in the life of these brave men and women, how they got started in their careers, and the many paths they took to get where they are today.  Afterwards, Principal Dan Anderson shared the stories of St. Christopher, patron saint of travelers and children, St Florian, patron saint of firefighters, and St. Michael the Archangel, patron saint of police officers.  The assembly ended with a blessing by Father Scott.

We thank all of them for sharing their stories with us and for what they do every day.
