About Our Library

Welcome to the Assumption School Library. We carry books in a wide range of subjects, both fiction and nonfiction and all students may check out these items for free. Students in Preschool thru 5th grade visit the library once every week, and older grades come in as needed.

Books may be checked out for two weeks at a time, with one renewal available for an additional two weeks. We do not charge overdue fines, but students may not check out new books until the overdue books have been returned. If at the end of the year a student has not returned a book, they will be billed its replacement cost.

I love working with your kids to help them find books they need for reports and books just for fun. If you have any questions or special requests, please email me.

Scholastic Book Fair

Funds raised from our annual Scholastic Book Fair help us to add new books to both the library and classroom collections. We try to include both subjects necessary for reports, but also books that students would like to read just for enjoyment.

OverDrive / Libby

5th thru 8th grade students may access free eBooks and eAudioBooks through the Washington State Anytime Library. This allows your student to access a wider range of books than are available in the school library. It is a free service, and there are no overdue fines. In order to access these services your student needs a library card from either the Bellingham Public Library or the Whatcom Public Library. Follow this link for detailed instructions on how to install and use Overdrive.
