Assumption Catholic School provides a challenging, comprehensive and relevant curriculum for each student in preparation for the intellectual and moral challenges of the 21st century. Our curriculum is based on our school’s philosophy and mission statement and is guided by standards set the Archdiocese and State of Washington.
We use our Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLE’s) to provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum for each student in grades K – 8. This curriculum addresses all aspects of the child: spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical and social. Our textbooks are chosen following curriculum study and alignment, based upon Archdiocesan recommendations.
Assessments used at Assumption Catholic School include: Accelerated Reader quizzes, Developmental Reading Assessments (DRA), Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS), Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL).
